Testimonials from Prior Tour Participants

"I asked our tour operator to use Randy as the guide for the Meuse Argonne portion of our 2007 trip based on his extensive knowledge of the region, the fighting that took place there and of other people in the area with interesting collections and battlefield experience.  He did a fine job and I hope to travel with him again."

"I thought you did a great job...  The Sgt. York tour was the high spot without a doubt.  The museum and tour of Butte Marie were also outstanding and special as were the sites of the final day at the [St. Mihiel] salient...  Thanks again for the job you did for us."

"...First, I thought the study guide you prepared was excellent and how you laid out the trip was very systematic and logical.  I have been over much of this ground in a previous trip but certainly saw and learned things that I did not know of had seen before.  Over all a B+ or 4 out of 5 stars...It is near impossible to provide a tour in which everyone will enjoy everything...  Would I go on another tour with you, yes."

"In 2005 I had the opportunity to take a tour with my friend Randy, and other members of a group which reenacts and researches the history of the German 8th Kurassier.  Randy planned a trip which followed the movements of the Kurassier from Cologne to Verdun in the Great War.  We moved along their rout, first familiarizing ourself with their home city, then stopping at various places where they moved and wee positioned.  While fast paced, the trip included stays at wonderful local hotels and we had a consistently positive experience.  Randy even arranged for us to meet with members of a unit that carried the 8th Kurassier tradition, and we stopped for a period of time at a German cemetery in France where a handful of the unit members were interred.  The trip was a wonderful combination of military history, local color, and memorable experiences with a variety of people throughout German and France who have an interest in perpetuating the history of the Great War.  Our last breakfast in France was at a family run hotel in which Randy has stayed for years.  We rose early to find that the proprietors had not only set us up a full breakfast, but knowing our interests, had laid out photo albums of vintage local photos from before, during, and after WW1.  This is just one of the many unexpected experiences that occurred on our trip.  Randy knows the area and the people quite well.  I cannot imagine anyone doing a better job.  Enjoy your journey!"
